IYDF Annual Symposium

We are delighted to announce our first IYDF Symposium, 'The Artist & Collaborative Practice', kick starting the Irish Youth Dance Festival 2023, funded by the Arts Council and in partnership with Dance Ireland, on Saturday 24th June, 10am -3pm at the Dance House, Foley St., Dublin 1.

The theme of our inaugural symposium will focus on the Dance Artist  and consider their artistic processes, conceptual concerns, materials and forms, aesthetic choices, collaborative practice and situate that in the current environment of contemporary dance for the dance artist and the collective.

We are excited to welcome Deirdre Mulrooney (writer, curator, historian, film maker, academic & UCD Creative Fellow) to chair the symposium and key speakers from dance and film: Liz Roche (Artistic Director, Liz Roche Company ), Anna Kenrick (Director, YDance Scotland) and Luca Truffarelli (Photographer/Video Maker) .

The day will be structured with introductions and presentations from key speakers including a Q&A.

A great opportunity to network with fellow artists and colleagues.

Please email dydcoffice@gmail.com to reserve your place by 16th June.

Fee €20 (Limited spaces available)

*Participants will be provided with a light lunch/tea and coffee on the day.
