Andrea Pivatto
IYDF International Dance Residency
Guest Choreographer

Andrea Pivatto, Director of Grupo Divinadança, São Paulo, has been developing her methodology through artistic research and exploration for over two decades. Her work in creation and teaching uses exploration and dramaturgy in constructing the scenic body. This approach/method/style supports the development of this scenic body by using a vocabulary of movement with exploration, where gesture and state of being drives movement beyond itself, communicating the intended concept. "What state of being is this scenic body in at this moment?" This question fuels the search for this dialogue, establishing a relationship with dramaturgy, inspired by aspects of physicality.
The vocabulary of movement, which encompasses cognitive processes and dramaturgical elements, unfolds into gestures and movements that create a dialogue between the objective and subjective body, strengthening the performer in their craft. Andrea Pivatto's humanistic background as a psychologist contributes to creative and performative processes through her understanding of human personality and its deep relationship with the world.
She has worked in different countries in the last decade as guest teacher, guest faculty, dance director, choreographer and performer. Countries she has been worked: Argentina (2014), Panama (2014), South Africa ( 2015 ), USA (2022), Germany (2013, 2024 and 2025), Ireland (2024 and 2025), Canada (2025).
