Hi everybody!
We missed the Irish Youth Dance Festival this year and its many activities, International Residencies, Masterclasses, performances, getting together to celebrate dance and meeting other dancers. Hopefully we will be able to enjoy a wonderful IYDF in 2021!
However, we did not stop, we kept going and met each other online every Saturday and Sunday dancing in our living rooms, bedrooms, kitchens and gardens! We also participated in two wonderful DIGITAL PROJECTS:
disDancing
Digital Dances produced by DYDC in April and May with members of the junior, transition and senior companies.

OUR MISSION
DYDC provides a platform for youth dance. It fulfills this mission with the following objectives:
-
To meet as a group on a regular, on-going basis, as an extra-curricular focus for young people who seek involvement in dance.
-
To create and perform new work and to provide young dancers and choreographers with opportunities to train, rehearse and perform.
-
To give young dancers professionally directed experiences to enhance their technical training, tap their creative and interpretative skills in choreography, and give opportunities for performing.
-
To enhance the arts environment in Dun Laoghaire Rathdown by participating in local, national and international festivals and events.
-
To host a national youth arts event in Dun Laoghaire Rathdown through its funding and directing the annual Irish Youth Dance Festival at the Pavilion Theatre.
-
To raise the profile of youth dance in Ireland at a local, national and international level.
